During this time, she also became proficient on viola, performing in various school and community events. At Indiana University, she studied violin and harp.After relocating to the Boston area, Margaret played in the Brookline Symphony for over a decade, first playing violin and viola as needed. In 1991 she began studying cello, and from then on played cello in the Brookline Symphony. Margaret also played cello in the MIT Summer Philharmonic for several years.  Since 2004, she has been teaching via the Suzuki method and is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and the American String Teachers Association.Please remember to bring all required materials with you to your lesson.

Public speaking can be one of life’s scariest tasks, but it doesn’t have to be! In this fun and engaging class, you will play improvisation games, serve as an anchor in a classroom newscast, take the pro- or con- side in a debate on whether teachers should assign homework and practice making eye contact in a staring contest. Pretty soon you will be acquiring public speaking and presentation skills while having a blast. Our Right Brain Curriculum instructors will coach you in using a loud voice, scanning your audience, making eye contact, speaking from notes, and making persuasive arguments – all while you gain your confidence as a speaker. Learn the basics of quilting in this 6-week course that focuses on selecting fabric, reading and understanding blocks, hand piecing, basting, and quilting.  You will learn different patterns and techniques to make quilt blocks that can be put together for a wall hanging or the start of a bed quilt.  This class is for beginners, intermediate, and experienced sewers.  Materials supply link can be found by following the link attached to this program.Students have the options to bring a sewing machine to class, or hand sew during class and finish their work by machine at home.  Your first class will be held at Bits & Pieces Quilt Shop, 70 Bridge Street, Pelham, where you will pick out materials for your project.  You will receive a discount on purchases that evening.IMPORTANT NOTE:  The price listed in our catalog is incorrectly listed as $59.  The fee for this class is $129.  We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.Instructor:  Melissa J. This class is based on your own individual project. The first class is held at Jo- Ann Fabrics in Westford, where you will be helped in choosing a pattern, fabric, and the supplies you will need for your project. In the following classes, you will learn how to measure correctly, read, adjust, cut out a pattern, and put it all together. Please bring your own sewing machine to class.  Instructor: Therese Quinn.About Our Instructor:Therese Quinn has been sewing for the past 35 years, and has taught adult education for the past 16 years. She is experienced in making girl officer, crossing guard, and cheerleading uniforms. Also she has experience in making and altering bridal gowns and wedding party dresses. Along with those, she makes custom drapes, English smocked dresses, and children’s clothing from christening dresses up to prom dresses.

Pilates is a mind, body, and spirit practice with benefits that include improved posture, better coordination and balance.  Increase lung capacity, improve concentration and focus. Increase body awareness, stress management, and injury prevention. Mat Pilates is a great choice for all levels of Pilates practitioners because the exercises not only can build in difficulty, but every exercise can also be modified to decrease or increase the level of challenge. Practicing Mat Pilates helps build a strong, balanced body and increases flexibility. As you progress in your practice, you will notice improvements in breathing, focus, and body awareness. This open-level class welcomes all abilities from beginner to advanced.Instructor: Jill BagniPlease bring a yoga mat or thicker mat for Pilates,  and a water bottle to class. About our Instructor: Jill Bagni is the owner of Clearly Classical Pilates and is a certified Power Pilates instructor for Basic Mat Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Mat.  She has been teaching Pilates for 15 years in and around the Merrimack Valley.

In 1991 she began studying cello, and from then on played cello in the Brookline Symphony. Margaret also played cello in the MIT Summer Philharmonic for several years.  Since 2004, she has been teaching via the Suzuki method and is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and the American String Teachers Association.Please remember to bring all required materials with you to your lesson.

This class is based on your own individual project. The first class is held at Jo- Ann Fabrics in Westford, where you will be helped in choosing a pattern, fabric, and the supplies you will need for your project. In the following classes, you will learn how to measure correctly, read, adjust, cut out a pattern, and put it all together. Please bring your own sewing machine to class.  Instructor: Therese Quinn.About Our Instructor:Therese Quinn has been sewing for the past 35 years, and has taught adult education for the past 16 years. She is experienced in making girl officer, crossing guard, and cheerleading uniforms. Also she has experience in making and altering bridal gowns and wedding party dresses. Along with those, she makes custom drapes, English smocked dresses, and children’s clothing from christening dresses up to prom dresses.

Practicing Mat Pilates helps build a strong, balanced body and increases flexibility. As you progress in your practice, you will notice improvements in breathing, focus, and body awareness. In this workshop you will create 3 beautiful decoupage scallop shells that can be used as trinket dishes, hung as art or as an ornament.  Choose from a wide variety of themes and prints to make your design.  This simple 4-step process is fun and easy to do. Great for yourself, or to give as a gift.  Heat guns will be used to speed the drying process. Public speaking can be one of life’s scariest tasks, but it doesn’t have to be! In this fun and engaging class, you will play improvisation games, serve as an anchor in a classroom newscast, take the pro- or con- side in a debate on whether teachers should assign homework and practice making eye contact in a staring contest. Pretty soon you will be acquiring public speaking and presentation skills while having a blast. Our Right Brain Curriculum instructors will coach you in using a loud voice, scanning your audience, making eye contact, speaking from notes, and making persuasive arguments – all while you gain your confidence as a speaker.
