Ready to outsmart knights, queens, and kings? In Checkmate Champs, kids in Grades K–5 will learn the exciting world of chess in a fun, supportive environment, no experience needed! Over 6 weeks, students will discover how the pieces move, master beginner strategies, and practice good sportsmanship while playing with friends. Each class includes a mix of lessons, puzzles, and plenty of game time to build confidence and sharpen thinking skills. Whether your child is brand new to the board or already dreaming of checkmate, this class is the perfect move!Instructor: Alex LitvackAbout the Instructor:  Alex Litvack has been a dedicated teacher and soccer coach for over 20 years, bringing energy, patience, and a love of learning to every class he leads. When he's not on the field, Alex enjoys teaching chess and helping kids build confidence, focus, and problem-solving skills, all while having fun. His teaching style is supportive, engaging, and perfect for young learners just starting their chess journey.

5:30 PM - 6:30 PM    Kid's Test Kitchen - Kid's Test Kitchen: Grades 1-5 (Session 1)
On a mission to redefine kid food; Kids’ Test Kitchen is a fun and engaging, hands-on cooking class for kids! With enthusiastic facilitation, we get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients!Kids’ Test Kitchen presents kids the opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, they’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until they’ve prepared the finished dish. Class closes with an opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned!Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation is encouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own.Lessons are planned to celebrate seasonal produce, whole grains, and legumes. Yes – join us again! Each series of classes offers fresh new recipes to prepare and explore!Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn’t miss out on the fun. Kids were eating new foods, parents were psyched, and session hosts wanted more! Early in 2016, we formed an LLC and updated the name to Kids’ Test Kitchen. We gathered talented individuals to facilitate Kids’ Test Kitchen classes and have added to our client list. Currently, Kids’ Test Kitchen is building a reputation in more than 65 schools and recreation departments.
