Registration for Summerfest 2026 will open on Wednesday February 18th at 10:00am.
To Register for Summerfest, please fill out all paperwork before registration reopens.
If your paperwork is not completed, you will not be able to register successfully for Summerfest.
If you are unable to register for a week, it is full. Please add your child to our Waitlist.
Field Trips will be held on mostly Wednesdays (with a Friday rain date) and the Water Slides are scheduled for Thursdays. All activities/dates are subject to change.
Summerfest Information:
The goal of Summerfest is to provide a valuable service to the parents of children in the Chelmsford area. The staff will make every effort to provide a safe and harmonious environment in which your child can make age appropriate choices that lead to sound social, emotional and physical development.
Welcome to Summerfest 2026!
We will have all our favorite areas open this summer: the STEM Room, Art Room, Chill Zone, Gym, Playground, Café, and Outdoor Rec. We will have weekly water features and in house guests or field trips. Our goal is to allow the children more time to do the things they really love, while still offering a variety of options.
Our program will be located at the Chelmsford Community Education Building, 170 Dalton Road 01824 Chelmsford, MA. Summerfest has lots of air-conditioned spots to cool off, and sprinklers and water play will provide refreshing fun on hot days. The staff consists of certified teachers, educational support personnel, nurses, college and high school students.
We will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Summerfest Staff looks forward to a fun, successful and safe summer working with you and your child.

Cruising the Caribbean July 6th-10th
Time for a trip to the tropics! The Whale mobile will be visiting us this week at Summerfest and we will kick off the summer with our first field trip to Roller Kingdom. Our games outdoors will all revolve around having fun in the sun while staying cool. Bathing suits are required for this watery week! Be prepared to be soaked!

Amazing Athletes July 13th-17th
This week we will be focused on encouraging all children to get more physical. We will be spending the week playing some of the kid’s favorite sports including wiffle ball, volley ball, basketball and soccer. Chelmsford High School Athletes will be coming in to coach us with drills and skills. Our athletic abilities will be challenged at the Conquer Ninja Gym.

Monster Mash July 20th-24th
It's a Summerfest Smash! Let's cook up some slime in our Stem-Laboratory this week and we will take a trip to Acton Bowladrome for some Glow-Bowling. We will end the week with a Costume Party/Monster Mash Dance.

Jamming in the Jungle July 27th-31st
Let’s go green! We will travel to the tropical canopy to create and learn about some wild animals that live in the rain forest. We will have a special visit from some fluffy, scaly, and loud animals! We will be exploring the Chelmsford Canopy with a trip to an in-town ropes course.

Spirit Week August 3rd-7th
Back by popular demand … spirit week is here! Teams will be created and they will compete in some silly, fun-natured competition throughout the week. Backwards day, crazy hair day and PJ day are always a hit. A theme list will be posted and sent out the week before. Grades 1,2,3 will have a visit from Bubbles Mcgee while grades 4,5,6 will take their annual trip to Canobie Lake Park.

Summerfest Has Talent August 10th- 14th Calling all singers, dancers and performers. Talent is the theme of this week. We will be focusing on all forms of talent. Our annual talent show will be held at the end of the week for all interested participants. Get ready American Idol ... here we come!

Summerfest Weekly Pricing
5 Days per week - $360
3 Days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) - $245
2 Days per week (Tuesday, Thursday) - $170
Grade Groups are based on the 2026-2027 school year.
Please make sure that your child's grade is correct for this CURRENT school year in our system before signing up. If you enroll in the wrong grade range, you may lose your spot for Summerfest.
Please contact the office if you believe you are eligible for a discount.
*If your child is not enrolled in the Chelmsford Public Schools, their Physical and Immunization records will be required.
Financial Aide Form must be printed and scanned back to the CommEd office with all required paperwork. Scan to CommEd@chelmsford.k12.ma.us or fax to 978-251-5154.
