In each of these individual sessions, you will be guided through practical, evidence-based strategies for communication, conflict resolution, and personal and interpersonal resolution.
Effective Communication: Participants will explore timeless communication strategies articulated in Aristotle’s philosophy. We will examine how contemporary research on effective communication both aligns with and challenges Aristotle’s insights. Participants will also learn effective de-escalation strategies that combine the best of Aristotle’s teachings with current research.
Managing Conflict: Conflict management requires understanding the source(s) of conflict and creating a pathway to sustainable resolution. In this session, participants will be introduced to common sources of interpersonal conflict according to research. They will then learn methods for achieving resolution. There will be opportunities to practice these strategies through simulation exercises.
Inner & Interpersonal Resolution: Personal and/or interpersonal resolution is often necessary after conflict. This interactive session distinguishes between forgiveness and reconciliation and offers forgiveness as a pathway to personal and interpersonal restoration. Participants will learn evidence-based interventions to foster forgiveness toward themselves and/or others.
