Geared toward teens, this class will explore the mind-body connection through breath work, asanas (poses), and meditation. Yoga reduces stress by bringing your nervous system back into balance and produces hormones such as oxytocin and serotonin causing improved mood and sense of wellbeing. Classes wil be centered around lessons that may include gratitude affirmations, yoga bracelets, and lanyards.
Please bring a yoga mat, optional blocks and yoga strap as well as an optional journal and writing utensil.
About Our Instructor: Jane Lynch
Jane is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor who has been teaching yoga for just over 4 years. Her belief is that yoga is a personal journey for each one of us, and it should be easily accessible to every "body". Jane's personal favorite discipline is slow flow yoga where you can integrate your mind,, body, and breath during these practices. The mind-body connection helps to reduce anxiety, emotional tension, and mood swings. it has also been scientifically proven to decrease blood pressure.
