About Our Instructor:
Danny Miller is a UMass Lowell student working towards completing his B.A. in Music Studies. He is a well-rounded musician with nine years of piano performance experience, serving as an on-call accompanist in the Greater Boston area. Based on a summer audition, he received a $10,000 scholarship towards a full-time degree program at Berklee College of Music. In 2021, Danny was hired by Newton Public Schools to play piano for choir rehearsals and performances at Day Middle School and surrounding elementary schools. At these schools, he also occasionally provides instructional assistance to bolster his development as an educator. Before attending UML, he completed a postgraduate year at Phillips Exeter, which culminated in a senior recital that featured two jazz piano transcriptions and two complete improvisations. He also honed his vocal abilities with the PEA Concert Choir, and has since stepped into the role of music director for Hawkapella, UML’s very first a capella group. Throughout his musical career, Danny has become proficient in piano, voice, guitar, drums, violin, and bass. He began teaching private lessons during his second year of college, working with all ages (3+) and all experience levels. He has a very easygoing personality and will adjust to each student’s personal goals, whether that be to study famous classical works, learn video game music, or anything in between.
