Summer Fun

Registration re-opens April 13th at 10:00 a.m.

Final Registration Update:

Hello Chelmsford Community Education Families,

I wanted to reach out to everyone and give a final update on our registration progress for the Summer programs.  Last week SummerQuest, Summer Splash and our enrichment classes all returned to open registration after families were moved into programs based on time stamps.

Summerfest was a much more challenging process. I have spent the last 2 weeks working with my office team and MyRec to review each account that had data retrieved.   This is the process that was followed for every family retrieved:

-Check the time stamp of registration.

-Review all paperwork was completed by 10 AM – failure to have paperwork completed before registration would have prevented any family from registering therefore their registration was not processed.

-Email the family to confirm the weeks they were requesting.

-Complete registration to the Summerfest program.

This took more time that we would have liked, but found it to be the only way to be fair to all of our customers.

At this time we have entered all families that had their data recovered.  I have heard from some families that they had their paperwork completed and registration was in their cart when the system crashed.  Unfortunately without time stamped data from MyRec, I cannot move forward registering those families based on their testimony.  It simply wouldn’t be fair to all the other people trying to register with the same scenario.

We will be reopening registration for all remaining spots on Thursday April 13th at 10:00am.  At this time there are very limited spaces available.

To Register for Summerfest, please fill out all paperwork before registration reopens. If your paperwork is not completed, you will not be able to register successfully for Summerfest.

All Registration Forms are listed below, along with the spots that are available.

Summerfest Information:

The goal of Summerfest is to provide a valuable service to the parents of children in the Chelmsford area. The staff will make every effort to provide a safe and harmonious environment in which your child can make age appropriate choices that lead to sound social, emotional and physical development.

Welcome to Summerfest 2023!

We will have all our favorite areas open this summer: the STEM Room, Art Room, Chill Zone, Gym, Playground, Café, and Outdoor Rec. Summerfest is designed around choices! The children will be able to pick which areas they would like to play and explore during rotation periods to allow for an opportunity to play with neighbors or friends who are close in age. Our goal is to allow the children more time to do the things they really love, while still offering a variety of choices.

Our program will be located at the Chelmsford Community Education Building, 170 Dalton Road 01824 Chelmsford, MA. Summerfest has lots of air-conditioned spots to cool off, and sprinklers and water play will provide refreshing fun on hot days. The staff consists of certified teachers, educational support personnel, nurses, college and high school students.

We will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Summerfest Staff looks forward to a successful and safe summer working with you and your child.
