Mountain Biking
Break the pandemic boredom and get your kids out and active over the summer with our NEW Mountain Biking programs!!
Get your kids outside and active this summer with this fun new program that will give your kids a safe, fun way to enjoy a new sport, develop self-confidence, make new friends, and get more physically fit.

We have several different ability levels - Beginner, Intermediate, and even a camp for the youngest of riders.  There is something for every age and ability level.  Each program will be offered twice - once in July and once in August!!!

What type of bike does my kid need?
Your camper will need a properly functioning and safe bike with knobby tires and hand brakes.  No training wheels are allowed and all bikes should go to a bike shop to be checked prior to the start of the program to assure they are acceptable for the program.

Curious if you have the right equipment?  Send us a picture to info@kceadventures.com or text 203-200-584 and we'll let you know!

What safety equipment is required?
In addition to the bike requirements, helmets are required and cycling gloves are strongly recommended.  Safety is a top priority, so an equipment check will be performed at the beginning of class.  Kids who do not have safe equipment will not be permitted to attend that day.

Important Covid-19 Policies:

  • Social distancing must occur at all times.

  • To minimize inside time as much as possible, please fill your water bottle ahead of time and use the restroom before you arrive.

  • For kids programs, there is a 2-strike policy for students (more information will be provided by emailing smithc@chelmsford.k12.ma.us).

  • Masks are to be worn when not riding.

  • All staff went through Covid-19 specific training on how to reduce exposure and will be enforcing those guidelines.

  • All current local, state, and federal safety recommendations will be adhered to.

Youngers MTB Program (Ages 5-6)
This program is designed specifically with young riders in mind. It will offer riding, games, instruction and lots of FUN! We focus on fundamental skills such as braking, body positioning, basic handling, balance, and easy trail riding to help young riders build confidence and the foundations needed to enjoy the sport for years to come!

This program runs 2 hours per day and 2 days each session to ease your child into the sport without overwhelming them.

Beginner Kids Program (Ages 7-10)
Your child will enjoy the great outdoors in this program presented by the experienced staff from KC&E Adventures. Mountain biking is a fun and exciting sport where riders can advance at the pace that is comfortable for them. This program is focused on riders just getting into mountain biking. We will teach skills like braking, shifting, body positioning, and how to read the trail to empower your younger rider to ride more confidently, safely, and just enjoy their experience more.

Requirements:
We ask that riders be comfortable with riding a bike and have bikes with knobby tires, rim or disc brakes, and gears. Helmets are required and cycling gloves are strongly recommended. Since safety is our top priority, we do an equipment check at the beginning of class. Kids who do not have safe equipment will not be able to attend that day. if you need any equipment or if you want to have your bike looked over, be sure to take it to your local bike shop.

Intermediate to Advanced Program (Ages 11-14)
Do you have a young mountain biker that is looking to take their skills to the next level? Then you have to check out the intermediate to advanced mountain biking program brought to you by KC & E Adventures.

In this camp, your young rider will learn advanced braking techniques, how to better position their body on the bike over varied terrain, read the trail better, and shred corners! Riders joining this camp must have mountain bike experience and be comfortable on single track terrain.
