Instructors:  Evelyn Schichner & Diane Manteca

VIRTUAL CLASS DOES NOT INCLUDE COST OF FOOD & SUPPLIES. Recipes/list of ingredients will be emailed to registrants prior to class.

About Our Instructor:  Evelyn Schichner
Evelyn's passion for French cooking began watching Julia Child on television. From there, Evelyn decided that the best place to learn would be to go to France, attend cooking classes, and immerse herself in the culture, which she continues to do for a portion of each year.  Whether living in an apartment in Paris or a farmhouse in the South of France, she spends time cooking, enjoying local restaurants, shopping at markets, visiting wineries, olive orchards, cheese makers, goat farms, chocolatiers, and bakers.  Evelyn bakes not only French breads, pastries and desserts, but savory dishes and meals as well.  She has taught classes in Boston, Cambridge and Brookline but has found that offering virtual classes affords students the ability to practice in their own kitchen using their own tools and ingredients.

About Our Instructor:  Diane Manteca
Diane has been a professional chef for 25 years, working in high end gourmet establishments as well as catering companies.  She owned the Brickyard Cafe in Cambridge for 7 years which was an eclectic and popular restaurant tucked away in the Fresh Pond area.  Diane has co-authored a Zone cookbook on healthy eating and worked as a food consultant with recipe development for a major corporation.  She has been a culinary teacher at Assabet Regional Vocational School and Brookline High School and has participated in many charitable events including Dana Farber:  Cooking for a Cure.  She is now a personal chef with clients in the Boston area, and her biggest passion is teaching - especially Italian cuisine which is her specialty.
