Mixed Media 2D

Collage is a technique of art creation that brings together different forms of media to create a whole.  This class shows you how to assemble paper, paint, and bits of found images to create pieces you will be proud of.  The class will cover technique, color theory and good composition.

PLEASE NOTE:  YOU WILL BE "WAITLISTED" FOR THIS CLASS AT TIME OF REGISTRATION AND WILL NOT BE CHARGED UNTIL THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF REGISTRANTS REQUIRED HAS BEEN REACHED.  WHEN THAT MINIMUM HAS BEEN SATISFIED, YOU WILL BE MOVED FROM THE WAITLIST AND AN INVOICE FOR PAYMENT WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU.  AFTER PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE, YOU WILL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL EMAIL WITH LOGIN INFORMATION TO JOIN THE CLASS.

A list of supplies will be sent before the first night of class.

Instructor:  Deb Arsenault


About our Instructor:  Deb Arsenault has a BFA in visual communication from Northern Illinois University, but her love of drawing and painting started at an early age when she started taking private lessons at 12 years old.  Deb has had her own art studio  at Western Ave Art Studios in Lowell for 8 years.


Collage Class Course Materials List
  • Package of 8 x 10 Canvas Panels
  • 16 oz Mod Podge Glue (Satin or Glossy)
  • Elmer’s Glue
  • Brown Construction paper or table protector
  • Assorted Colored Papers
  • Assorted Colored Pencils
  • Acrylic paints (basic primary colors such as; Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, White)
  • Assorted bits of Fabric, lace, etc.
  • Old Magazines (you don’t mind destroying)
  • Old Books (you don’t mind destroying)
  • Old 8 x 10 Frames (Savers, Thrift Store or Garage Sales)
  • Old wooden box (Cigar box, etc.)
  • Interesting 3-D items to collage with (examples: Stones, twigs, seashells, sand, old photographs, etc…)
