The goal of Summerfest is to provide a valuable service to the parents of children in the Chelmsford area. The staff will make every effort to provide a safe and harmonious environment in which your child can make age appropriate choices that lead to sound social, emotional and physical development.
Summerfest 2021 is thrilled to be back! Summerfest will look different this year, but we are so happy to have everyone come back! This year, students will move through our areas as a group, getting to stay with their friends, and morning and afternoon Group Leaders each week. We will have all our favorite choices open, the STEM room, Art room, Chill Zone, Gym, Playground, Café, and Outdoor Rec that each group will get to visit each day. We will rotate every hour, have a morning, and afternoon snack, and when the weather is nice, a picnic lunch!
Our program will be located at the Chelmsford Community Education Building, 170 Dalton Road 01824 Chelmsford, MA. Summerfest has lots of air-conditioned spots to cool off, and sprinklers and water play will provide refreshing fun on hot days. The staff consists of certified teachers, educational support personnel, nurses, college and high school students. We will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A Sneak Peek at Summer!
This summer we will be participating in our own version of “Amazing Race”. The children will be earning fitness and participation miles for our in house activities. These miles will allow all of us to virtually travel to many exciting world destinations throughout the entire summer. Our progress will be tracked all summer long on a large world map.
Party in the USA (7/6/21-7/9/21) This week students will celebrate our country. We will be waving our red, white and blue during this week, making passports, and exploring some of the great landmarks and history of our country as we get to know our students for the first week!
Totally Tropic (7/12/21-7/16/21) We will have earned our way to the Caribbean, South America, and the Amazon Rain forest with our fitness miles. Soccer will be our sports clinic this week and help us earn more fitness points. We will be bringing in some exotic animals to celebrate and enjoy. This whole week will be about keeping cool with curious creatures.
Greek Greatness (7/19/20-7/23/20) Just in time to gear up for the Summer Olympics (Tokyo Japan 7/23/21-8/8/21) we will be having Olympics of our own, as we travel to Greece. Let’s go for the gold as we earn those fitness miles. The children will compete in many individual and team challenges of all athletic and mental levels. Training all week for the final Olympic event, where they will participate in an opening ceremony, then cheer their teams on, compete for medals, and close it out with a chariot race.
All About Asia (7/26/21 -7/30/21) As the Summer Olympics kick off in Japan we will earn miles to travel to the Far East this week. We will have in-house guests come and demonstrate and teach students about traditional Indian Dance to earn those fitness miles this week. We will have table tennis clinics. Students will enjoy traditional Asian Cuisine in traditional style as an Asian food truck brings lunch on Wednesday with several delectable options.
African Adventures (8/2/21-8/6/21) Next we will head to Africa. Prepare for a wild week. Our in house guest will be a fun hands on musical guest. Rugby will be our sports clinic. We will explore African culture, animals, dance and art all this week.
European Extravaganza (8/9/21-8/13/21) As our Journey comes to a close we will add the last stamps to our passports in Europe. Leaders will lead students in socially distanced live action board games like checkers, Battleship, chess, Stratego, Risk, and more as we celebrate Europe’s history and legacy. We will have a chance to say goodbye to our friends and celebrate a great summer with an end of summer feast, Harry Potter style.
