Health Literacy
Health Literacy is the degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions.  Over 90 million adult Americans have difficulty understanding verbal and written health information which may contribute to poor health and health behaviors.

This will be a two-hour workshop with Instructor Nina Anderson.

PLEASE NOTE:  YOU WILL BE "WAITLISTED" FOR THIS CLASS AT TIME OF REGISTRATION AND WILL NOT BE CHARGED UNTIL THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF REGISTRANTS REQUIRED HAS BEEN REACHED.  WHEN THAT MINIMUM HAS BEEN SATISFIED, YOU WILL BE MOVED FROM THE WAITLIST AND AN INVOICE FOR PAYMENT WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU.  AFTER PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE, YOU WILL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL EMAIL WITH LOGIN INFORMATION TO JOIN THE CLASS.

About Our Instructor:
Nina Anderson has over 15 years of experience teaching at the collegiate and post-doctoral level.  A graduate of the University of Washington, Nina has been involved in many service related activities including, establishing community-based projects to provide care and education to the underserved population at WIC, the Cambridge Health Alliance, and the Veterans Affairs Hospitals.  She has also worked with the Harvard Medical School's office of Diversity Inclusion and Community Partnership as a mentor.  Other activities include service with literacy volunteers, pipeline/mentoring and military veterans' transitional programs.
